Casual Gaming and Nintendo is Hardcore

Have you ever heard anybody say that Nintendo is for kids and casual gamers? At first I never did, but after I got deeper into video games and the communities centered around them, that's all I heard when I would even mention Nintendo. It really upsets me because I have been playing on Nintendo systems for ages. The characters are unforgettable, (we all know who Mario is.) and the games are good too.

And it's a proven fact that casual gaming can help you with things such as timing and good hand eye coordination. It can boost your brain IQ also with games like the Professor Layton series and brain age.

I really enjoy playing on the hand held systems. I don't always have the time to sit down in front of my TV and plug all of those wires in then start up the system and finally play the game itself. And when I'm really busy or when I'm about to catch the bus I just pop my Nintendo DS into my purse and go! It's a simple solution for me when I want a quick gaming fix.

I'm sure there are a lot of companies out there who have worse issues than Nintendo does, so why bother stereotyping? I used to think that the Xbox was only for hardcore gamers and being a more casual gamer myself, I wouldn't even go near it. So the next time I hear somebody say that Nintendo is for kids I'll be sure to bust out that controller and show them all the perks of what casual gaming can do to help boost your gamerscore!

What next?
