My Game Secrets (Kinda)

You see, it was about three years ago, that finally I came out.  It was a really difficult decision, but my significant other encouraged me to really start showing who I was.  My coming out process was slow, whenever I was indulging my cravings, I would slam my laptop shut whenever my parents or friends would walk by.  I struggled through my addiction, until I finally admitted to everyone: I am a gamer girl.

Gaming Angels have an interview with Geek Chic Cosmetics where they ask at the end of the article what our guilty pleasure game is. I have to admit, there are still some games that I still have a hard time admitting to everyone that I play.  Sure, my closest friends and my boyfriend know everything that I play, but whenever someone asks what video games I play, I keep to Battlefield and Counterstrike.  Here are some of the games that I play that do not normally make the list:

World of Warcraft
I am sure you are saying, "Wait - 10 million people play this, how are you embarrassed that you play too?" I would not say that I am embarrassed.  I am actually quite proud of my achievements that I have on WoW.  The main concern I have is that when I say I play WoW, people just think, "oh she's a girl, she probably just skips around Goldshire finding Easter Eggs during Noblegarden."  While yes, I do that, I do not want to tell someone that I play until I can tell them, "I am also a level 80 resto shaman with over a 5k gear score, and I used to have a level 80 hunter that was one of the top DPS in my raiding guild." Sounds a lot more impressive doesn't it?  Also, I tend to get the spiel about "WoW will ruin your life!" So I avoid that route too.

Pokemon
Oh, Pokemon.  My forever craving.  Pokemon had to be the first game that really got me into "gaming." The thing about Pokemon now though, is I get a huge craving about twice a year to play.  How huge are these cravings?  When I discovered the battery on my Gameboy Color Pokemon cartridge had died - I did not just buy another Pokemon game for it, I went and bought an Nintendo DS and the new game.

Neopets
While I do not play nearly as much anymore, whenever I am bored and only have a computer near me (that does not have Counterstrike on it) I log back in.  Oh to see Epidimicc and Counttess again, my little loves!  I think that Neopets taught me more about stocks with their stock market more than anyone else (not that I know a lot), and they have a tremendous amount of mini games that I just love!  Then of course there is the arena and... it is just endless!

Runescape
Yes, I used to play Runescape.  I remember starting to play Runescape when there were only 300 people on the top server (and I thought that was a lot!).  It was my pre-WoW I like to say.  I again occasionally log back on, but after changing WoW, I can barely walk around without getting confused anymore.

What are your game cravings?  And make sure you tell Gaming Angels too for a chance to win some Geek Chic Cosmetics!

What next?
